Orient, NY, December 07, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Artist Colin Goldberg has released a unique free mobile application called "Goldberg Lite," which allows users to choose from a selection of original artworks for use as wallpaper for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. Goldberg Lite is unique in that it is the first app to combine wallpaper functionality with the ability to purchase signed limited edition prints of each piece via Etsy, an online marketplace popular with artists.
Goldberg's artwork explores the abstract imagery of the future. His influences include the New York School Abstract Expressionist painters of the 1950's, graffiti art, and Shodo, the art of Japanese calligraphy. The artist's work has been displayed in museums and galleries across the United States, and resides in the permanent collection of the Pollock-Krasner House in East Hampton, New York, former home and studio of painters Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner. The artist is currently represented by Yes! Gallery in Brooklyn, NY.
The artwork images, based on works created over the last 12 years, are divided into two sections: "Digital" and "Mixed-Media." The mixed-media works combine paint and pixels into the artist's signature blend of painting and digital art. The pieces in the Digital section are abstract digital compositions drawn using a graphics tablet and vector-based imaging software.
Goldberg not only created the artwork for the app, but also designed the interface and functionality of the mobile application. The free app is now available in the Apple App Store. There is also an ad-free version simply called "Goldberg" with over 65 additional artwork images available as an upgrade. Find out more at ColinGoldberg.com, or search for "Goldberg Lite" in the App Store.
