BookieJar Debuts "Yummy Read" to Promote Indie eBooks
BookieJar’s “Yummy Read” weekly recommendation program aims to promote independent writers and their eBooks with daily installments.
Seattle, WA, December 07, 2011 --(PR.com)-- BookieJar Inc. announces the launch of ”Yummy Read,” a new program to make weekly recommendations to promote eBooks from independent writers and publishers. Gloria Campbell, the director of Bellevue College’s Publishing Institute, with 38 years of editing experience, is joining BookieJar as the "Yummy Read" program content advisor to help with the selections.
This program is based on BookieJar's unique ongoing publishing model. On BookieJar, a writer can publish eBooks in pieces, often chapter by chapter. Reading ongoing eBooks provides an addiction similar to watching a TV series but with a significantly lower cost-of-entry. It also allows readers to “taste” before committing to buying a whole book. The writer benefits from greater reader loyalty and, for manuscripts in progress, the writer enjoys a faster time to market and gets useful feedback quickly from the reading public.
Every Monday, Bookie Jar’s content staff promotes new and noteworthy eBooks – or “Yummy Read”—on the home page of its website and on the opening screen of its mobile application. A new chapter of the eBook becomes available each day throughout the week. Readers can read the story, add comments and share it with friends on BookieJar's built-in social platform as well as the external ones such as Facebook and Twitter through BookieJar's integration components.
“Yummy Read,” notes Deyun Wu, Bookie Jar’s CEO, “is a tremendous opportunity for writers to get exposure and build their readership. As we know, allowing readers to taste the book is essential because a book synopsis is not enough to engage them. The Ongoing Book publishing model can be of significant help here, and is particularly attractive to readers when considering works of lesser-known writers."
BookieJar is accepting submissions to the program in the categories of Romance, Sci-Fi/Fantasy, and Young Adult. The program guidelines may be found at: http://www.bookiejar.com/Home/YummyRead.
