27th Annual Buckley's - Kennedy's 5K Charity Run to benefit HeartShare Human Services of New York
Brooklyn, NY, May 02, 2007 --(PR.com)-- The 27th Annual Buckley’s – Kennedy’s 5K Charity Run is set for Sunday, May 20 at 10 a.m. This year, the Run will begin and end in Riis Park, on the Queens side of the Marine Parkway Gil Hodges Memorial Bridge. All proceeds benefit HeartShare Human Services of New York and its efforts to provide needed services to children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities, as well as for other at-risk children and families.
The registration fee for adults 20 and older is $20, and for youth 19 and under is $10. This fee is waived for any adult runner collecting $50 or more or any youth collecting $25 or more in donations. Additionally, the youth that collects the most sponsor donations will receive an iPod.
Following the Run is the Family Fun Day Picnic with food, drinks, games, awards, pee-wee races, and live entertainment. This year, The Highland Rover Band, The Hagen School of Irish Dance, and DJ Suds will keep you moving all afternoon. Free for all runners and open to the public for a small fee ($10 for food and drink, $15 with a t-shirt, children under 12 free), this fun begins at 11 am. and is not to be missed.
