Sunny Island Finalists Announced
Following tense semifinal voting, the ten entrants judged most deserving of a place in the nationwide online art contest Sunny Island have now been chosen.
Moscow, Russia, December 09, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The finalists in the 6-8 year age group are: Anna, whose entry is entitled Paradise Isle, Alexandra (Cyprus), Anna (Cyprus Dawn), Katarina (Island of Dreams), and Slava (Flamencos on Paradise Island). In the 9-12 year age group, the finalists are: Olesya (Other-World Island), Alexandra (Cyprus), Alina (Evening on Cyprus), Nastasia (Bay), and Roman (Treasure on Cyprus). On December 13, a panel of judges will meet at the Banki.ru press center to decide the winner and runner-up. Above all the judges will be looking for conformity with the Sunny Island theme, richness of imagery, overall creativity and originality. In each age group, the entrants awarded first and second prize can look forward to a holiday in Cyprus for two and an Apple iPad, respectively. Other prizes, which include professional art kits, cameras, and graphic tablets, will be shared by the finalists and based on the number of votes they received in the semifinal. All entrants will have a chance to win an Apple iPhone 4 mobile phone by taking part in a special prize draw.
The panel of judges includes Uniastrum Bank President Gagik Zakaryan, Bank.ru CVO Yelena Ishcheeva, as well as the celebrities Dmitri Dibrov, Armen Dzhigarkhanyan, Boris Grachevsky, and Tatiana Vedeneeva. The panel members are not only successes in their chosen fields, but also parents that know from experience just how important it is that children are given a chance to express their talent.
The Sunny Island contest has attracted more than 1,500 children, a total of 1,657 entries, and some 89,000 votes. Every day the competition website draws over 1,500 visitors.
Sunny Island is a competition for children who love drawing and is also a way of enabling youngsters in Russia to discover more about Cyprus, its history, and the history of the Mediterranean in general. The contest is being run by Uniastrum Bank and web portal Banki.ru with support from the Cyprus Tourism Association.
