United Social Sports Helps DC Metro Area Adults Recapture Their Youth with Unique Sport Leagues
DC Metro area adults can now have recess thanks to United Social Sports. Leagues for adults include Skeeball, Bocce, Cornhole, Beer Pong and more.
Washington, DC, December 13, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Remember Skeeball, that childhood game at Chucky-Cheese where you roll balls down a lane into numbered circles in hopes of getting a high score? Get enough points and be able to get those coveted Prize tickets to trade in for a dinosaur eraser or bouncy ball! It was a game every kid loved to play but was really in it for the tickets and prizes. Well, that game is all grown up now and is becoming the talk of the town as DC’s popular adult social sport with United Social Sports (USS) hosting leagues all over the city. The goal now though is to make sure everyone wins, or as Robert, the founder of United Social Sport, says to make sure that “everyone scores.”
Sports leagues such as flag football, softball, or even ultimate Frisbee have been around for a long time but few people have experienced the thrill of an adult Skeeball, Cornhole or even Dodgeball league. With groups like United Social Sports reintroducing these games it’s more organized and social than ever. Adults can now have recess time.
Players from all over the DMV area are gathering in bars, dusty old school gyms and rec centers to line up and have a try at Dodgeball, Skeeball, Bocce, and indoor kickball to name just a few. The new friendships, fun times and variety of perks is what keeps bringing these players back time and time again. “The leagues are so much fun, especially with their trivia and Giant Jenga games to pass the time till your next match, I can’t wait for next season,” says Mike Robson a player of United Social Sports. “It’s great because the league does all the work for you. Doesn’t matter where you live, there is a league for almost anyone anywhere. You just show up, play, and meet new people,” says Robert Albrecht.
Indeed it does seem that the league covers all of the players needs. Items like ordering the team uniforms, creating schedules, not to mention arranging drink specials at the bars for the post game activities, to even organizing happy hours and special events, United Social Sports has picked up much of what the Type A friend use to do for groups of friends. USS attempts to make the whole experience a "no brain-er" for its players.
Nothing draws in the players like the bragging rights of winning trophies or even prize giveaways and United Social Sports does not disappoint there either. Jeff H. told us, “I just moved to the city and was trying to meet new people. Joining a Skeeball league on H Street was the best thing I could have done. It made making new friends so simple.” Eric, a new friend of Jeff's talked about the last end of season party USS had. “I had an awesome time meeting people and playing games, and to top it all off I won a Nintendo Wii...” So, sign up or miss out on great prizes.
It seems that United Social Sports must be doing something right. “We started out with just a small skeeball league in 2009. Now we are the biggest social sports company in DC offering over 22 different social sports leagues in the DMV area,” remarks Robert as he is checking on winter registrations for Skeeball and Cornhole. Two of the popular sports U.S.S. offers in addition to any other new idea he and the USS players are always hatching. “If we can continue to make it fun and a great value for people, then I think we can continue to grow and will add more sports. We want people to have as much fun as possible while meeting someone new,” Robert continues. In addition to the normal player offerings It seems USS also has an answer for the traditional holiday gift giving dilemma. A person can now give friends or loved ones the gift of fun with a USS Gift Certificate.
People interested in checking out one of U.S.S.’s Winter leagues or purchasing a gift certificate can visit the USS website or surf over to Yelp to read the USS reviews, (here’s a hint, all five stars.) Visit U.S.S. at UnitedSocialSports.com
