ART+ Interviewed Shemekia Copeland about her Album Soul Truth
Shemekia Copeland talked to ART+ about her album Soul Truth and her mentor Ruth Brown, the great blues singer. Shemekia also talked about growing up in Harlem, about why she sings the blues.
Davis, CA, May 03, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Shemekia loved her mentor Ruth Brown, the legendary blues singer who passed away in 2006. Ruth Brown was an extraordinary woman both on and off stage and she had been very generous to Shemekia and helped and encouraged her when she first stared to sing.
