MyVitalFiles, Inc. Solves the Paperwork Emergency
San Luis Obispo, CA, May 02, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Having important documents organized and easily accessible in case of emergency, illness or at tax time is critical. Thanks to a creative San Luis Obispo couple, a stress-free, “no-assembly-required” solution is now available.
Certified Financial Planner® and Psychotherapist Steve Thayer and Graphic Designer Peggy Thayer, owners of MyVitalFiles, Inc., recently introduced an innovative, ready-to-go Home Filing Solution that brings simplicity and peace of mind to a common problem – keeping track of life’s essential paperwork.
With the daily deluge of paperwork that accompanies modern life, organizing home documents can be tedious and time-consuming. Just setting up a filing system can be overwhelming due to uncertainty about which documents to keep and where to put them. Without an efficient, easy-to-use system in place, household paperwork can quickly turn into chronic clutter – consuming valuable time, energy and space.
The Thayer’s uniquely functional, esthetically-pleasing MyVitalFiles™ Home Filing Solution system “takes the work out of paperwork.” Drawing on their own life experiences and a desire to help others, they combined their professional and personal strengths – including strong intuitive, organizational and design skills – to create a simple, self-explanatory filing system that encourages and empowers people to gain control over their paperwork.
According to Steve Thayer, “Like death and paying taxes, organizing vital paperwork can’t be avoided forever, it needs to be done – and sooner is better than later. Just ask the person who wasted hours sorting through piles of papers to find a critical tax receipt;” he explains, “or the family whose valuable records were lost in a fire or flood because there wasn’t time to find and pack them up; or the spouse or family member frantically searching through drawers and boxes for medical, insurance or financial documents in the midst of dealing with the serious illness or death of a loved one.”
“The surprising part of this project for me,” says Peggy Thayer, “is that we originally designed it with function and esthetics for busy baby boomers, like ourselves, faced with trying to stay organized on a daily basis. Then we found parents also liked the concept, wanting to give it to their kids who are just starting out. Others want the system to help their aging parents get organized after the loss of a spouse.”
The practical MyVitalFiles™ system makes the task of filing important documents easy by demystifying and streamlining the process of getting started. Unique features include bright, artfully-designed file folders that are already pre-labeled, color-coded and pre-collated alphabetically with intuitive categories. Not only pretty and fun to use, they are reversible for added flexibility.
The MyVitalFiles™ Home Filing Solution System is available directly from the company and through select Professional Organizers. Additional tools like free filing tips, commonly used forms and useful links are also available on the company’s website. For more information, visit www.MyVitalFiles.com or call (877) 544-1636.

More about MyVitalFiles,Inc.: How it all began.
The “MyVitalFiles™” Home Filing Solution is an innovative organizational system that lets people quickly find important financial, legal, medical and personal documents, relieve clutter, and have peace of mind by being prepared for unexpected or inevitable events such as death and taxes.
MyVitalFiles, Inc. originated from organizational needs discovered – and solved – by company Founders Steve and Peggy Thayer in their own professional and personal lives.
Steve Thayer, a Certified Financial Planner® for 25 years, has often helped his clients organize their financial documents – from sifting through their paperwork-filled shopping bags in his office, to going to their homes to sort and file for them. As a Psychotherapist, he is dedicated to helping people find ways to cope with stress. The combination led to his inspiration for creating the MyVitalFiles™ Home Filing Solution system, and a mission to provide necessary tools for making people’s lives easier.
For Peggy Thayer, the spark came with her mother’s frantic need to pull together the documents required by the lawyer, accountant, insurance company, bank and other agencies to settle her father’s estate after his death. “My mother was overwhelmed by the piles of paperwork she was left with, compounded by the grief of losing her spouse,” said Peggy, who stepped in to help. “My father had always taken care of the family finances and record keeping. I found myself drowning in a sea of paper, files and folders — none filed in any intelligible order. He had simply kept everything for 56 years! When we finally got things pared down, my mother was so grateful. It felt so wonderful that I was able to help her – to give something back to my mother – that I cried.”
Peggy put her graphic design talent to work, giving their Home Filing Solution idea a physical form. But not just any form. One that was smart, stylish and simple – that she personally would enjoy using.
According to Peggy, “I realized later that this was my father’s ‘gift’ to me, and why I am so passionate about helping other families avoid having to go through what I did.”
