Phuket Artist Marilyn Band at Think Design Arts Fest 27 December
Phuket, Thailand, December 15, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Well-known Phuket artist Marilyn Band presents her latest paintings at the Think Design Arts Festival, at Royal Phuket Marina from 27 until 30 December 2012.
On show will be oil paintings and mixed media artwork inspired by scenes from her recent travels, each painting telling a unique and exotic story.
“I have included beautiful, mystery women in my latest paintings,” said Marilyn. “They might be goddesses, real or imagined female figures. After all, isn’t there a woman in every good story?”
Besides exploring the archipelagos of the Indian Ocean on their yacht “Emerald Blue” (www.sail-thailand.com), Marilyn and her husband Nick divide their time between Thailand and France.
Marilyn’s paintings, water colours and paper cut-outs grace the walls of many Phuket villas. The artist has had numerous exhibitions in Thailand and internationally, most recently in France.
The legendary Boathouse resort on Kata Beach, Phuket has not only successfully hosted several of her exhibitions but also commissioned Marilyn to provide artwork for their guest rooms.
“I am pleased to have been invited to join Phuket’s first arts festival together with fellow foreign and Thai artists and hope it will turn into an annual event,” Marilyn said.
A percentage of proceeds of sales will go to the “Phuket Has Been Good to Us” and the “Soi Dog” foundation, two of Phuket’s most deserving charities.
