NKSJ Holdings Named One of the Top 30 CSR Performers in East Asia for the Second Consecutive Year
Tokyo, Japan, January 06, 2012 --(PR.com)-- On October 24, 2011, NKSJ Holdings, Inc. (hereafter NKSJHD) was named one of the top 30 companies for CSR in “East Asia 30,” a list of the 30 top CSR performers from three East Asian countries (Japan, South Korea, China) released by the Asia CSR Expert Committee (Chair: Mr. JU, Chulki), which is comprised of Japanese, South Korean and Chinese experts. This marked the second consecutive year NKSJHD was included in the list.
1. About East Asia 30
South Korea’s Hankyoreh Economic Research Institute (HERI) led the development of the new evaluation standards, which incorporate Asian values into global CSR evaluation standards. The top 30 companies for CSR in East Asia 30 are selected based on evaluations conducted by the Asia CSR Expert Committee, which is comprised of 10 experts from Japan, South Korea and China. East Asia 30 began in 2010, with 2011 marking its second year. A more comprehensive evaluation was conducted for 2011 that included the addition of company CSR initiatives in the supply chain and human rights as evaluation criteria.

2. About the Companies Selected for East Asia 30
Companies selected for East Asia 30 in 2011 include 20 Japanese companies, 5 South Korean companies and 5 China companies. In conjunction with East Asia 30, HERI also announced the “East Asia Environment 30,” “East Asia Society 30,” and “East Asia Governance 30.” NKSJHD was named to both the “East Asia Environment 30” and “East Asia Society 30”.
3. Moving Forward
NKSJHD will continue to broaden its CSR initiatives, take stock of leading examples, actively participate in CSR-related initiatives in Japan and overseas as well as actively disseminate information on its initiatives both in Japan and abroad.
