Innovation Direct™ Set to Promote Patented Engine Safety Shield Invention to Potential Licensees

Miami, FL, December 18, 2011 --(PR.com)-- An innovative new patented product designed to protect airplanes and helicopters from a potentially catastrophic situation, the Engine Safety Shield, has been developed by John Zunik of Brooklyn, New York. The invention's unique design enables it to serve as a highly effective safety barrier for airplane and helicopter engines against birds and other airborne objects that could cause significant damage to engine components.

Air-based modes of transportation have always had certain elements of danger inherent in them due to the distance above the ground at which they are typically conducted, as well as the ever present possibility that other airborne objects or debris could come into contact with them. In recent years for example, there have been multiple instances of birds striking planes and in many cases significantly damaging the engine components. This in turn can rapidly turn the situation into a dire one where numerous lives are lost.

The Engine Safety Shield will provide unprecedented protection of aircraft engines, thereby giving passengers and crew peace of mind. It will consist of a grid composed of multiple materials that will cover the opening of the engine. The cover will have small holes throughout that will allow for the unencumbered passage of air but that will not provide enough space for objects to permeate. The Engine Safety Shield will sport a considerably slippery and non-stick surface, insuring that neither debris nor birds will remain attached should they come into contact.

The Engine Safety Shield will be adaptable for use on new or existing helicopters and airplanes, adding to its appeal. It will also be considerably durable and will help to increase airflow to an aircraft’s engine. Additionally, it will help reduce fuel consumption, a considerable benefit considering the ever increasing expense this represents.

The Engine Safety Shield is the subject of Design Patent # D621,852 with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. Zunik now seeks a third party licensee to manufacture, market, and distribute the product for him under a royalty agreement. Potential licensees in the aircraft accessories industry are currently being targeted as candidates to eventually commercialize Engine Safety Shield on a worldwide basis.

In November 2011, Mr. Zunik contracted Miami, Florida-based product management services leader Innovation Direct™ to represent the Engine Safety Shield to potential licensees for a 2 year period. Innovation Direct™ obtains the maximum amount of exposure for the products that it represents through its unique and patented licensing methodology and its participation in multiple and diverse industry-leading trade shows each year. Exhibits that Innovation Direct™ has attended in recent years include the SHOT Show, the International Home and Housewares Show, the National Hardware Show, Licensing International, the SEMA and AAPEX Shows and the ERA D2C Convention.
