Hillsides Guild hosted its annual holiday celebration at the Parkway Grill in Pasadena to bring joy to many deserving foster care children and families in need.
Pasadena, CA, December 23, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The holiday season can be a time to lift everyone’s spirits, bringing together family and friends while celebrating the meaning of Christmas. Hillsides Guild hosted its annual holiday celebration at the Parkway Grill in Pasadena to bring joy to many deserving foster care children and families in need. The event raised more than $16,500 to benefit Hillsides, a Pasadena foster care charity that also serves vulnerable families in Los Angeles County.
“The holidays is a season filled with traditions and this event is one such tradition that Hillsides supporters can expect annually,” said Joseph Costa, Hillsides chief executive director. “With the proceeds from this celebration, we can continue to maintain traditions for the children we serve.”
The proceeds enable the Guild to support the foster care children’s charity through its various enriching children’s activities. Guests also were able to select holiday tags from the Christmas tree prominently displayed to fulfill special wishes for the vulnerable children served by the charity. Before listening to the internationally renowned Citrus Singers, guests were able to savor assorted pizzas and flatbreads, organic field greens, grilled filet mignon with Yukon gold mashed potatoes, wild mushroom ragout in a marsala veal reduction. Afterwards, guests delighted in chocolate hazelnut crunchy cake with candied hazelnuts and milk chocolate sauce.
Opportunity drawings winners were Lyn Spector, Nancy McGuire, Sue Tutt, Phyllis D’Ambra, John Quinn, and Jennifer Caballero.
Hillsides Guild membership is open to adults who want to take an active role in improving the lives of foster care children and youth at-risk. Interested parties wishing to join the Hillsides Guild should contact the foster care charity at (323) 254-2274, ext. 254. Visit www.hillsides.org for more information.
