Linden Lane Press Poetry and Painting Prize 2011
Linden Lane Press is the home of Cuban artists, writers and poets living in exile. This year, Linden Lane Press held its first Poetry & Painting contest. Orlando Ferrand, Cuban-American poet, writer and painter won the LLP Poetry Prize. Candida Rodriguez won the LLP Painting Prize. There were a total of 3 finalist painters and 5 poets. Their extraordinary work in both artistic disciplines has been materialized into these two beautiful editions showcasing the work of these amazing artists/poets.

La otra isla (The Other Island) by Cuban-American artist and painter Orlando Ferrand, winner of the Linden Lane Press Poetry Prize 2011, and Poetas y pintores en la callecita de los tilos (Poets and Painters on the Alley of Linden Trees), an anthology showcasing the finalists at the LLP Poetry and Painting Prize 2011.
Both books are illustrated. Therefore, they serve as double-sampler work of these Cuban poets and artists in exile. Some of them are released for the first time on the LLP finalists' anthology with a mature work that the reader will love, not only because of the poetic but also because of the pictorial.
The cover design and layout of these full-color Spanish editions have been carried out by celebrated artist, poet, writer, journalist and editor of Linden Lane Press, Belkis Cuza-Malé. They feature original paintings by Cándida Rodriguez, René Cifuentes, Oreste Puente-Mujica and Orlando Ferrand. The poets who collaborated on the anthology are René Dayre Abella, Guillermo Arango, Maria Eugenia Caseiro, Alberto Dominguez, Baltasar Santiago Martín and Oreste Puente-Mujica.
