FROM THE BOOK
It was Monday morning the 29th of August 2005, when Hurricane Katrina was devastating all parts of Louisiana. My heart went out to all those residents, black and white who were suffering from this dreadful storm of the century. It was the Africans who didn't stand a chance because they didn't have the means to get out of their districts. Some of the Africans who stayed in their homes so as to protect their homes, would surely die of drowning when the water came up from the broken levees of the cannel.
Those residents who were placed in the Convention Center and the Superdome to override the storm and they would go back to their homes. They never expected in their wildest dreams that they would have had to spend over one week in those buildings without any food or medical supplies. They knew what was happening on the outside and they prayed for help to come. Their lives were turned into a turmoil.
So I hope you'll join the Scott's family in their greatest triumph, ever, as they are cast into a different world, a world that wasn't theirs.
