Colorado Springs, CO, January 01, 2012 --(PR.com)-- FleshEatingZipper.com, a popular website for news, reviews and commentary, explodes into 2012 with a new site design, more content and more biting commentary on gaming, entertainment, technology and more.
The new design is brighter, faster and more reader-friendly. "Because of our phenomenal growth over the past year, the original site design just couldn't cut it anymore," explains site designer and Zombie Ninja Assassin Kelly Karnetsky. "We’ve completely revamped the site, with a new logo, new sections and generally more badassery. The content that our readers want is now easier to find, easier to experience and easier to share."
FleshEatingZipper has been around for a year, and during that time the site has amassed over 2,500 comments on 1,000 articles. Currently, over 250,000 people per month rely on FleshEatingZipper for honest, up-to-the-minute news, reviews and commentary on the hottest topics in the industry. FleshEatingZipper has added more writers this year and the site’s popularity continues to rise.
In addition to the Games, Technology and Entertainment sections, the new FleshEatingZipper now includes an "Off-Grid" section for topics ranging from politics to sports to anything in between. "We're not shy about speaking our minds," explains staff writer and Galactic Emperor N Pfeifer. "And our readers seem to enjoy what we have to say, even when they don't agree with us. Now we're expanding our reach with even more topics for our readers to love or hate. The sky's the limit."
The updated website will also include more content in the form of two weekly comic strips. "The Walking Ted" is based on a concept by Rob Morris and follows the ups and downs of a self-aware zombie named Ted as he ruminates about life, death and brains in the post-apocalyptic world. The second comic, named after the site itself, follows the members of the FleshEatingZipper staff as they struggle with the website and each other.
"I'm excited that we're expanding into comics," says writer and Mister Fancy Pants Johnny Stephens. "Now we have even more ways to make fun of the world around us." Between the two comics, FleshEatingZipper's rapid growth and reader loyalty is expected to only increase into the next year. "You're going to see some amazing things from FleshEatingZipper in 2012," Stephens promises. "And I'm not just talking about the end of the world."
FleshEatingZipper was founded by four friends who, after taking their gaming, tech, and entertainment podcast from site to site, finally formed their own independent editorial website to showcase their unique (and often harsh) perspectives. Rob Morris, FleshEatingZipper's Senior Talentless Bum said, "People said we were crazy to break away and try this on our own… well, mostly WE said that, but we're technically people, so we count. People want the truth and that's what we always give them. Even if it sucks sometimes."
