FWO Productions Announces Unique Musical Event, "Jazz & Blues: Under One Roof," Taking Place in Chicago at The Tavern Club, May 25
“Jazz & Blues: Under One Roof” with performances by “Pippi” Ardennia & Billy Branch
Chicago, IL, May 06, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Rita G. Lewis premieres a unique musical experience featuring two different music genres - jazz and blues - all under one roof.
This after-work gathering, tailored for the upscale 30-something to middle-aged professional crowd, will simultaneously present the mesmerizing sounds of Pippi who was praised by Ramsey Lewis, "You have a wonderful voice, a marvelous voice; you know what you're doing with it." and the bluesy licks of Chicago’s renowned harmonica player Billy Branch who “works miracles with a harmonica ... he's one of Chicago's hot blues musicians" declares Ann Taubeneck of the Chicago Sun-Times.
“Pippi,” who has performed for President Clinton, Tony Bennett, Liza Minnelli, and our very own Mayor Daley, will delight the crowd with an original composition from her soon-to-be released CD “Love So Good.”
Billy, a two-time Grammy nominee with over 30 international tours, including Europe, Japan, China, Australia and South America, has played and recorded with such luminaries as Willie Dixon, Koko Taylor, Lou Rawls, and Johnny Winter. He has appeared on over 100 recordings with various artists, including 10 of his own and is one of the founding artists of the “Blues in Schools" project where he has personally educated youngsters about the blues since 1978.
“Pippi” and Billy are held together tightly by the Bobby Lewis Trio, who performs regularly at the Backroom, and one of the hottest blues band working today, the Sons of Blues, respectively.
The first of this anticipated music series will debut Friday, May 25, 2007, from 6:00pm-8:30pm at The Tavern Club, 333 N. Michigan Avenue. Guests will enjoy two concerts for the price of one - $60/person; $55/person for purchases of two or more. Complimentary hors d’oeuvres and wine will be served throughout the evening.
