EmployIndy Appoints New Board Members

Indianapolis, IN, January 06, 2012 --(PR.com)-- EmployIndy, Marion County’s local workforce development organization, is pleased to announce the addition of ten new members to the board of directors: Bridget Boyle, Kristy Cook, Andrew Elsener, Michael Huber, Christina Nash, Doug Poe, Yvonne Rice, Kaye Walter, Maureen Weber, and Dennis Wimer.

Bridget Boyle is vice president of Roche Diagnostics Corporation and the human resources leader of the North American region for the diagnostics division. Her previous roles include senior human resources leader at Ventana Medical Systems and vice president of human resources with JP Morgan Chase.

Kristy Cook is the region three manager for Vocational Rehabilitation. She manages seven Vocational Rehabilitation offices in Indianapolis and the surrounding counties. Cook began her career with Vocational Rehabilitation in 2006 and held several positions including counselor and supervisor. She has been invited to and presented at several conferences on Vocational Rehabilitation and youth transition services.

Andrew Elsener is president at Spot Freight, Inc. He earned his Bachelor of Science in biology and chemistry from St. Joseph’s College and completed Master of Science from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale in 2002.

Michael Huber has served as the deputy mayor for economic development since March 2010. His previous roles include director of enterprise development for the City of Indianapolis, deputy commissioner of the Indiana Department of Administration, and deputy director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Government Efficiency and Financial Planning group. Huber is a member of the associate faculty of the School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA) at IUPUI. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the Kelley School of Business at IU-Bloomington.

Christina Nash holds the position of director of recruiting for BCforward, the largest minority business headquartered in Indiana. Nash graduated from IU and began her career in the AmeriCorps VISTA program where she initiated several school and community change projects in the Fountain Square area. She currently manages BCforward’s recruitment efforts in Indianapolis, Chicago, Cincinnati, Hyderabad, India and St. Petersburg, Russia.

Doug Poe is the executive director of the American Indian Center of Indiana, Inc., a state wide not-for-profit organization serving workforce and employment issues of Native Americans and Alaska Natives in the State of Indiana. Prior to assuming the executive director position, he was chairman of the board. Poe is a graduate of Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in industrial technology. He is active on the board of the Interagency Council for Black and Minority Health, Indiana Minority Health Coalition, Indiana Faith and Health Partnership, State Master Research Planning Committee, Treasurer of Running Buffalo Circle and trustee of his local church.

Yvonne Rice is the human resources manager at CMW International. During her 36 year tenure, Rice also served as quality assurance manager, ensuring that only quality products reached the customer. While in this position, Rice successfully led CMW in attaining ISO 9000 (Quality Management System Standard) and AS9100 (Quality Management System Standard for the Aerospace and Defense Industry) Certifications.

B. Kaye Walter is the chancellor of the central Indiana region of Ivy Tech Community College. Her previous roles include chief learning officer at Valencia Community College, vice president for academic services at Kansas City Kansas Community College, a professor of chemistry, and co-facilitator at The Academy, Institute for Leadership Training and Development. She is the past chair of the Council of Instructional Affairs for Florida Community Colleges. Walter has a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from the University of Houston, a Master of Divinity from Saint Paul School of Theology, and a doctorate in chemistry from Rice University.

Maureen Weber serves as vice president of customer experience at IU Health. She joined IU Health as the director of community outreach and engagement in 2009. Her prior experience includes chief operating officer to Indiana’s Superintendent of Public Instruction, deputy commissioner for employment growth in the Department of Workforce Development, and deputy commissioner for strategy and operations in the Bureau of Motor Vehicles. Weber graduated cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center and Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. She serves on the Mayor’s Charter School Advisory Board, boards of directors of Near North Development Corporation and Covering Kids and Families, and on the K-12 education committee of the Indiana and National Chambers of Commerce.

Dennis Wimer is the deputy commissioner of field operations for the Indiana Department of Workforce Development. He oversees the operations for all Indiana WorkOne centers. Prior to joining DWD, Wimer held multiple executive level positions in profit and non-profit organizations. Most recently he served as executive director of Lutheran Child & Family Services. Wimer attended Purdue University and holds a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School of Business. He is also a veteran of the United States Air Force, where he served as a navigator on the C-141B Starlifter for 9 years.
