Raleigh Geriatric Care Management Presents… "Adults with Aging Parent Drivers"
This presentation is designed for family members, caregivers and loved-ones of senior drivers. The Beyond Driving with Dignity program is not built around the premeditated goal of “taking the keys away” from an older driver. The program is designed to help the older driver and concerned family members make appropriate decisions on the future of the individual’s safe driving career.

Lauren Watral is the owner of Raleigh Geriatric Care Management and has recently received training in Keeping Us Safe’s “Beyond Driving with Dignity” professional certification program.
This presentation is designed for family members, caregivers and loved-ones of senior drivers. Among other things, the presentation highlights the legal, ethical, and most importantly the emotional challenges faced by the family as they are confronted with the very challenging issue of knowing when to restrict a loved one’s ability to continue driving as a result of the aging process.
Watral will be presenting the “Adults with Aging Parent Drivers” program on Saturday, January 21, 2012 from 10AM-1130AM at the Guiding Lights Caregiver Support Center. The presentation is open to the public and there is no charge to attend.
As part of her “Beyond Driving with Dignity” professional certification status, Watral and Raleigh Geriatric Care Management are now offering Keeping Us Safe’s “Enhanced Self-Assessment Program” to older drivers and their families. This individualized, one-on-one session with the older driver includes an actual driving exercise, and helps the older driver and his/her family make appropriate decisions regarding a loved-one’s driving future. Watral is also an authorized distributor of “Beyond Driving with Dignity; The workbook for the families of older drivers.”
