Local Non-Profit to Help Develop & Shape Youth Leaders; Motivate for the Future
E.E.L Program—Encouragement and Empowerment of Leadership, will demonstrate to city youths the importance of being encouraged and empowered in order to become leaders and trailblazers in society.
Brooklyn, NY, January 09, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Be Positive Campaign, a local non-profit organization that encourages a positive outlook among youths, will host a three-hour workshop for junior and high school students on Saturday January 14 the at the Madison Boys & Girls Club in Brooklyn, the Thomas S. Murphy Clubhouse.
Keishorne Scott, executive director of the organization, proclaims that the program is very essential. “Today’s youths are losing their empowerment because there is no one there to cheer them on and encourage them to keep moving forward,” he said. “We are here because we have lives to touch, lives to change, lives to empower, and lives to create for those who want to live.”
Scott believes that by implementing activities-driven programs focused on encouragement, empowerment, and leadership, youths can become more responsible and develop the necessary traits to become successful. “By addressing current social issues such as peer pressure, self-esteem issues, misguidance, and the lack of role models, we know that we can empower and encourage our youth to walk a path of leadership,” Scott said.
The workshop will consist of interactive sessions designed to develop effective communication skills, identify positive role model values, and educate participants on the importance of being responsible. The Be Positive Campaign, Inc. believes that the E.E.L. Program is necessary to provide direction to young men and women in our communities to ensure success in school, at home, and throughout their community. Registration starts at 10:00am Sharp and workshop begins at 11:00am. Then it's time for sports and fun from 1:00pm - 4:00pm, which includes swimming, basketball, football, etc.
