TrimDog Launches New Dog Arthritis Product to Provide Natural Pain-Relief
Wilmington, NC, January 10, 2012 --(PR.com)-- TrimDog, a Wilmington, North Carolina-based company, geared toward providing products for helping dogs live a healthier and happier life, announced today the launch of a new product designed to provide natural pain-relief for dogs suffering from arthritis.
Ike Kinlaw, developer/founder of TrimDog, has modified the highly successful TrimDog Exercise Belt so that it may now be used to provide localized heat therapy for dog’s suffering from arthritic pain of the hips and shoulder joints. “Modifying the TrimDog Belt to be used as a fitted, dog-friendly heating pad, was a natural progression on our quest to help all dogs get fit and healthy,” stated Kinlaw.
Dog arthritis is becoming so prevalent in the United States that it is estimated that 1 in 5 dogs will suffer from arthritis in their lifetime. It is also estimated that 50% of all large breeds will develop hip dysplasia, a subluxation of the hip joint that causes arthritis and leads to chronic pain and discomfort.
Kinlaw explained that, “Heat therapy has been used by people for decades to ease sore joints and relax stiff muscles. The benefits of heat therapy for arthritic dogs include: promoting blood flow and relaxation, decreasing inflammation in muscles and joints, and helping to release tight muscles and ease muscle spasms.”
Dina Sarro has been using the TrimDog Exercise Belt for heat therapy with her 10 year old mixed breed named Carlo for several weeks now with noticeable improvement in his mobility. “Carlo wasn’t sure what to think when I first heated the belt up and wrapped it around his hips. After a few sessions Carlo warmed up to the belt and the pain-relief he gets from the belt now allows him to play regularly with his little brothers Cristo and River, just like when he was younger.”
Heated beds are sometimes used to help provide comfort to arthritic dogs; however, the bed does not deliver the pain-relief directly to the area in question. The TrimDog belt allows the heat to be safely administered to the desired area at veterinarian-recommended temperatures. The belt utilizes corn as a natural heat conductor to prevent excess temperatures that could be dangerous to your dog.
Canine Rehabilitation Practitioners have embraced the TrimDog Exercise Belt as an approved method for delivering home heat therapy for their patients. Dianne Logan, CCRP, of Wilmington Animal Fitness & Rehab, commented that TrimDog is a “Super Product! So easy to apply heat to our best friends’ achy joints.”
