Sirma Mobile Won Mobile Innovations Contest by SIMagine
Sofia, Bulgaria, January 11, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The leading Bulgarian mobile development company Sirma Mobile was awarded first place at SIMagine awards 2011, an annual international contest for mobile innovations held by the SIMalliance. Amongst the key members of the strategic alliance are world’s largest SIM cards producers Giesecke & Devrient, Oberthur Technologies and Gemalto. Sirma Mobile, a subsidiary of Sirma Group Holding, was honored in the “Best Mobile Internet Security Award” category over competitors like Turkcell and Palm Tree Technology.
The award ceremony took place on October 18, 2011 at SIMPOSIUM Asia 2011 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Sirma Mobile won the competition in its category with a core mediation platform “On-Air Smart Security,” which enables a wide range of software developers to deploy unified SIM ToolKit (STK) applications not only on SIM cards (as it is today) but on various types of smart cards in order to serve extensive opportunities like mobile and card payments, access control and certificate management.
The prize is indicative for the grade of innovation delivered by the winning solution and represents a serious reference for the Bulgarian company, which is being recognized not only as an experienced software development supplier, but also as a research center for innovations. The SIMagine awards aim to distinguish precisely the biggest achievements in the area of mobile innovations that would have worldwide impact and are an important reference for quality, innovation and added value for business solutions.
Sirma Mobile’s presented solution is a comprehensive API platform (Application Programming Interface) which enables any software company to deploy its present and future SIM card STK applications on bank cards as well on many other smart card types for a wide range of industries. Until now SIM ToolKit application developers were limited to provide applications for vendor-specific SIM cards only, whether applications for smart cards had to be completely separate versions and therefore additionally developed. Using the “On-Air Smart Security” platform, now developers can unify and seamlessly reuse their applications and run them on various types of smart cards as well.
