Christian Authors Network Creates Strong Presence at Trade Show
CAN (Christian Authors Network) will present a program for bookstore retailers and drawings for product. CAN focuses on sharing the good news of books with readers and fosters good relations with book retailers. The breakfast at the trade show with CAN will provide opportunity for CAN authors to share author news and encouragement with book store owners. The event will include drawings for bundles of free books and book signings.

Three winning bookstore owners will find themselves awash in free books at Munce Group’s Christian Product Expo in Lancaster, PA at the end of January 2012. Members of Christian Authors Network (CAN), an organization of published authors dedicated to promoting Christian books, has donated over $1,400 in books to be split into three giveaway packages. The drawing will be held on Tuesday, January 31, the last day of the three-day expo.
That morning, CAN will co-sponsor the breakfast meal for expo attendees in the Marriott Hotel and Convention Center. CAN representatives will present a program that includes insights into the author’s lives and stories behind their books, special announcements about CAN authors, and a streaming power point presentation of books written and donated by the organization’s members.
“In these tough times bookstore owners and authors need encouragement,” said Karen Whiting, author, speaker and CAN officer. “This event lets us encourage one another and share our love of books and the desire to minister through words, plus bless retailers with some gifts and drawings for free books.” Karen Whiting will MC the program at the breakfast.
Christian Authors Network was formed as a supportive association to spread the news about books to book-lovers everywhere. CAN operates as a cooperative, Christ-centered venture, to encourage and teach each other and “get the word out” about CAN authors’ books that offer spiritual nourishment to their many readers. As a part of that effort, bookstore owners at CPE will receive from CAN gift bags of bookmarks for use as bag stuffers in their stores, as well as a complimentary copy of the CAN newsletter. Subscription to the newsletter is free and provides breaking updates on new releases of members’ books and insights on authors’ lives through articles written by the authors themselves and other industry professionals. The CAN newsletter also makes an excellent store bag stuffer.
A number of CAN authors will be present at the trade show and sign their books. The authors include Jeanette Windle (a Christy Award Finalist and nominated for Golden Scroll Novel of the Year Award), Karen Whiting, Susan May Warren (Winner of 2006 Inspirational Reader’s Choice Contest, Roseanna White, and others.
The annual Christian Product Expo is presented by the Munce Group for its membership of Christian retailers. Pastor and popular author Charles Stanley will be the keynote speaker. The show offers an opportunity for networking, education, encouragement, and updates on products for owners and operators of Christian bookstores.
