Two new committee-authored technology perspectives.
Ashburn, VA, January 11, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The IJIS Institute—a nonprofit organization that focuses on mission-critical information sharing for justice, public safety, and homeland security—is pleased to announce the publishing of two of its newest advisory committee white papers.
Data Sharing Between Computer Aided Dispatch System was written by the IJIS Institute Public Safety Technical Standards Committee (IPSTSC). This paper explores data sharing between dissimilar Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems by discussing the CAD data sharing paradigm, examining current CAD data sharing efforts, and addressing some of the issues that inhibit CAD data sharing across the nation.
Committee Chair: Steve Hoggard, Spillman Technologies; Principal Contributor: Rick Meggison, Avaya Government Solutions; Contributors: Chuck Brady – EmergiTech, Nathan Daniels – FATPOT, Tom Dewey – Advanced Justice Systems, John Harding – FATPOT, Steve Hoggard – Spillman Technologies, Scott Parker – IJIS Institute, Becky Ward – Tiburon, Michael Weins – RCC Consultants, Kathy Wendt – SRA
The IJIS Public Safety Technical Standards Committee (IPSTSC) broadens industry involvement in the vetting and endorsement of standards for public safety technologies and develops the technical standards needed to support information exchanges between computer aided dispatch, records, and other justice computer systems in prosecutor, corrections, and court agencies.
Advances in Digital Video: Getting the Most Value from Video Information was written by the Emerging Technologies Committee (ET). This paper briefly describes the advancement in each of these areas as applied to the many domains (lines of business) within the justice and public safety enterprise, but with a deliberate focus on law enforcement as the front-line producer and consumer of video information.
Committee Chair: Matthew D’Alessandro – Motorola Solutions Inc.; Principal Contributors: Matthew D’Alessandro – Motorola Solutions Inc., Mike Reade – IBM Corporation; Additional Contributors: John Crouse – Policy Studies, Inc. / Committee Vice Chair, Ralph Bell – Motorola Solutions, Inc. / Editor
The Emerging Technology (ET) advisory committee addresses technologies that are believed to be new and emerging as they relate to the justice and public safety domains, not necessarily new technologies overall.
