Andrew Kirby Premiers a Collection of Abstract Original Paintings at Makin Waves Salon in Huntington Beach January 2012 with Proceeds Benefiting Cystic Fibrosis
Huntington Beach, CA, January 11, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Andrew Kirby Gallery is pleased to premier a new exhibit of abstract original acrylic on canvas paintings January 2012 at Makin Waives Salon in Huntington Beach, California. The paintings will be featured as a part of the Huntington Beach Art Walk February 15, 2012 and remain on exhibit through the month of February. Proceeds from the sales of the paintings will benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
The collection consists of nine original abstract paintings by local artist Andrew Kirby. These works are acrylic on canvas studies of color and texture that reflect organic movement and breath life into any space. Originals and limited edition prints are available for sale. Most of the paintings in this particular exhibit are 18 x 24 inches, but his works range in size from 12 x 12 to 60 x 80 inches and larger and prices start at $75. Proceeds from the sales of the artwork will benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Andrew Kirby is a Musician, Composer and Visual Artist who has spent the last decade living in and around Huntington Beach, California. Andrew's music, 3-D art and photography have been featured in Huntington Beach before, but this is the first time his paintings have been exhibited. His photography captures our great American landscape, our values and ideals. From the majesty of stormy mountains and ocean sunsets to the colorful expressions of roadside treasures, each shares a unique view of the American life. His SKULLAGE Collection of 3-D found-object art is a unique statement on pop culture and the passion of collecting. His vast library of original music spans styles from light ethereal to heavy metal and his abstract paintings are reflections of color mood and emotion. Each piece invokes drama and feeling.
Makin Waves Salon was established in 1997 by entrepreneur and community organizer Susie Smith. Born into a family of artists in New York and moved to California at age 3, Suzie made Huntington Beach home in her twenties. She is certified in 11 different methods of hair extensions and has worked on numerous celebrities, rock stars, actresses and models. Her Downtown Huntington Beach Salon is home to many expert stylists and offers all hair services including cutting, coloring, extensions and more. Susie is the co-founder of the Downtown Huntington Beach Art Walk and has been involved in organizing and growing the monthly event since its inception in 2010.
