Thompson & Knight Expands Intellectual Property Practice
Dallas, TX, January 12, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The global law firm of Thompson & Knight LLP is pleased to announce the addition of Partner Sarah M. Paxson and Associates Anthony Miller and Justin Welch to the Intellectual Property Practice Group in Dallas.

Paxson focuses her practice on intellectual property and related disputes, primarily in the areas of patent, trademark, and trade secret litigation. She has represented clients in intellectual property cases in a wide variety of fields ranging from childrens’ and pet products to credit card processing, automotive, and communications technologies. Paxson also regularly advises clients on intellectual property protection strategy, product clearance, and licensing. She received her J.D. from Washington University School of Law in 2001, and her B.S. in Chemistry, cum laude, from Texas Christian University in 1998.
Miller concentrates his practice on intellectual property litigation matters, particularly patent infringement and trade secret cases. He has represented electronics manufacturers, semiconductor manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, and software companies, along with other patent attorneys in patent malpractice cases. Prior to attending the University of Texas Law School, Miller worked as a software developer and computer programmer. He received his J.D., with honors, from The University of Texas School of Law in 2003, and his B.S., with high honors, from The University of Texas at Austin in 2000. He is admitted to practice in Texas, has first- and second-chair trial experience, and has represented clients in each of the Federal District Courts of Texas, before the Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and Federal Circuits, at the International Trade Commission, and at the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
Welch focuses his practice on intellectual property transactions, including domestic and international trademark prosecution and enforcement, trademark clearance searches, IP assignments and licenses, due diligence on potential acquisitions, domain name disputes, data privacy, and drafting contest and advertising rules. He received his J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School in 2008, and his B.S., magna cum laude, from Lipscomb University in 2005. Welch is admitted to practice in Texas, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts and is a member of the International Trademark Association.
