Former White House Economic Advisor to Deliver Keynote Address at Green Professionals Conference
Jared Bernstein–noted economist, commentator and author–will be the keynote speaker at the Green Professionals Conference on Feb. 16, 2012 in Portland, OR. Mr. Bernstein will discuss green job growth, economic trends and projections, the jobs bills proposed by the Obama administration and green job legislation. The largest green industry workforce event in the Pacific Northwest, the Green Professionals Conference anticipates over 700 attendees this year.
Portland, OR, January 12, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Green Professionals Conference announced today that Jared Bernstein–noted economist, commentator and author–will be the keynote speaker at the Green Professionals Conference on Feb. 16, 2012. Mr. Bernstein will discuss green job growth, economic trends and projections, the jobs bills proposed by the Obama administration and green job legislation.
From 2009 to 2011, Mr. Bernstein served as the Chief Economist and Economic Adviser to Vice President Joe Biden, as executive director of the White House Task Force on the Middle Class and as a member of President Obama’s economic team. Vice President Biden calls Mr. Bernstein “…an acclaimed economist and a proven, passionate advocate for raising the incomes of middle class families.”
In May of 2011 Mr. Bernstein joined the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities as a Senior Fellow and is often featured as an on-air commentator for CNBC and MSNBC news programs. He has also worked as a senior economist and the director of the Living Standards Program at the Economic Policy Institute in Washington, D.C. and as the deputy chief economist at the U.S. Department of Labor.
Mr. Bernstein will deliver his keynote address at 8:30 a.m. at the Oregon Convention Center. The keynote address is free and open to the general public; however, registration is required in order to guarantee admission. The largest green industry workforce event in the Pacific Northwest, the Green Professionals Conference anticipates over 700 attendees this year.
