Atkins is a 37 year veteran of the financial services industry, most recently serving as the Chief Financial Officer for Wells Fargo. Prior to joining Wells Fargo, he held a variety of senior finance leadership positions at New York Life Insurance Company, Midlantic Corporation before its merger with PNC Bank, and Chase Manhattan Bank. Institutional Investor and American Banker both recognized Atkins for the work he has done as a Chief Financial Officer.
Atkins is currently a Director with Occidental Petroleum and Ingram Micro, a Trustee of the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco, and a member of the American Banker CFO Advisory Board, the Financial Executives Institute and the Conference Board.
Atkins received a B.S. degree in mathematics from City College, New York, and his master’s degree in economics from Ohio State University.
