Capital Bauer Expands Resources and Product Offerings
Albany, NY, January 13, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Capital Bauer Insurance Agency, Inc., longtime provider of personal, commercial and employee benefits insurance and financial services, is pleased to announce the merger with Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., the world’s fourth largest insurance brokerage and risk management firm.

“We did this for our clients. We want to continue to grow and provide them with more resources to fit their individual needs,” Bauer stated on the merger. All 41 employees at Capital Bauer will continue their service and account management will remain locally.
Capital Bauer was originally founded by Bauer’s father, Robert F. Bauer in 1957 as Robert F. Bauer Insurance. Then a family run business, it grew throughout the Capital Region and changed its name to Capital Bauer Insurance Agency, Inc. in 2003. David Bauer assumed the role of President.
Capital Bauer will continue their strong presence in the Albany community and is well known for its support of the Albany Police Athletic League, St. Peter’s Hospital and the Girl Scouts of Northeastern New York, to name a few.
Three years ago, Gallagher acquired Albany’s Fuller O’Brien, an insurance and risk management agency established in 1923. As for the near future, the offices of Fuller O’Brien and Capital Bauer will combine to one location. The two Albany agencies have over 140 years of combined experience and both will become part of the Northeast Region of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.’s retail property/ casualty brokerage operation. Bauer will assume the role of Area President / CEO and Thomas Tyrrell, previous President of Fuller & O’Brien will be Area Chairman.
