Providence, RI, January 13, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Members of Elite Consulting, a New England based sales and marketing firm, raised money for charity. The company recently opened its doors and has already started making an impact on the community. In its first month in business, Elite Consulting was able to raise $1000 for Operation Smile.

It is this personal approach to which Elite Consulting accredits its success.

Operation Smile, founded in 1982 with the help of medical volunteers, is an international charity that provides surgical services to children suffering from facial deformities. According to Operation Smile, a child is born with a cleft palate every three minutes. Since inception, the non-profit organization has provided more than two million patient evaluations and over 200,000 surgeries. Operation Smile now has a presence in over 60 countries.

Elite Consulting began their philanthropic efforts with the opening of their doors. Together, the members of the company were able to raise $1000 for Operation Smile.

“I knew I wanted to have a company that gave back to the community. I have volunteered with the Special Olympics at Brown University and love being able to make a difference. I wanted to carry that over to the company and give our team the ability to give back as well. I am glad we have already established a culture within the company where community service is valued,” explains Bryan Powlen, President of Elite Consulting.

In addition to volunteering with the Special Olympics as a volunteer track and field coach at Brown University, Powlen and members of Elite Consulting also participated in raising money for Adopt A Family in Providence. They plan to continue their philanthropy as they grow throughout the year.
