Toffee Break Desserts Wins The Taste Awards’ Best Toffee in America

Northbrook, IL, January 14, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Toffee Break Desserts, a suburban Chicago-based artisanal toffee maker, was awarded Best Toffee in America by The Taste Awards, the premier broadcast awards show celebrating the best in food, fashion, and home lifestyle programs in television, film, online and radio. Toffee Break Desserts was selected as one of three top toffees out of 18 finalists.

The Taste Awards feature a star-studded lineup of food, fashion and lifestyle celebrities, and the third annual awards show will take place on January 12, 2012, at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood, California. Fabio Viviani (Bravo’s Top Chef), Tanya Holland (Cooking Channel and Food Network), Nathan Lyon (Fit TV, Discovery Health, PBS and Food Network) Heidi Klum (Project Runway) and Amy Paffrath (E! Entertainment Television) have been among the show’s celebrity presenters.

A panel of 18 judges ranked the 18 toffee finalists in five categories: best packaging, best ingredient combinations, best taste, best texture, and top toffee for The Taste Awards. In addition to being selected as a Best Toffee in America, Toffee Break Desserts also took home awards in the most categories, including best taste, best texture and best ingredient combinations.

The judges included representatives from Plate Magazine, Candy Industry Magazine, the blog Tiny Urban Kitchen, the website Yumsugar, Viva Cocolat store and café and the renowned Draeger’s Market.

One judge noted that Toffee Break Desserts had “shatteringly delicious crunch and a wonderful, authentic toffee flavor! For Toffee Break, it was not about the nuts, or the chocolate, but really about the toffee.”
