Kelly Kubasta Named Director of My Possibilities Board
Klemchuk Kubasta Partner Supports Adults with Disabilities
Dallas, TX, January 13, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Kelly J. Kubasta, co-founding senior partner of Klemchuk Kubasta LLP (KK LLP), a leading full-service intellectual property (IP) law firm, has recently been named a director on the board of My Possibilities.
My Possibilities was created to support adults with disabilities who have “aged out” of the public school systems in North Texas, through continued education programs that help them realize their greatest potential, while enjoying meaningful lives. Designed to provide a higher level of training for special needs adults, My Possibilities offers pre-vocational socialization and independent living skills courses.
“Adults with cognitive disabilities are a severely underserved population. Beyond high school, there are few educational programs or services that provide regular, full-time training for special needs adults,” said Kubasta. “With the proper training and a supportive environment, these individuals can lead far more fulfilling and productive lives. As a director, I’m committed to contributing my legal and business experience to help this organization expand to meet the needs of these special adults.”
Started by a group of mothers of children with different abilities, My Possibilities recognizes that education does not stop once a child leaves school, and that it is critical to help these individuals continue to grow and learn. Beyond the basic education skills taught in most schools, My Possibilities gives these adults advanced training that enables them to do volunteer work and become contributing members of the community. Viewed as a pioneer in the Collin County community for special needs education, this organization continues to expand its outreach in North Texas as an advocate for disabled adults.
“At Klemchuk Kubasta we are committed to helping others, and the community we serve,” said Darin M. Klemchuk, co-founder and senior partner of the firm. “We are pleased to support Kelly’s endeavor to empower adults with cognitive disabilities, and give them the tools they need to succeed.”
