Dr. Angela Kremers Joins EAST Initiative Staff

Educational non-profit EAST Initiative would like to welcome Dr. Angela Kremers as their new Senior Director of Corporate Strategy. Through Dr. Kremers’ previous work with the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation as their Senior Associate for Education, she gained national attention in educational philanthropy by increasing support and collaboration for improvement in higher education college completion work and K-12 system reform. Dr. Kremers was nominated by Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe in 2011 to serve on the prestigious National Assessment Governing Board.

EAST’s Board of Directors Chairperson Dominik Mjartan had the following to say of Dr. Kremers’ decision to join the EAST staff full-time: “Dr. Kremers’ expertise in education and learning makes her uniquely qualified to build on EAST’s success in serving thousands of students. Dr. Kremers is a nationally recognized speaker on education-reform issues as well as a published author on the subject. Kremers’ article, “Use of Layering for Effective Partnership Building: Leveraging Positive Impact in Education Philanthropy,” was published November 2011 in The Foundation Review. Dr. Kremers has been active in Arkansas’ participation of federal initiatives and has served in all levels of education work including high school teacher, university administrator, consultant, and strategic leader of innovative reform. Dr. Kremers has served on numerous Boards of Directors, advisory boards, state teams, and commissions. She earned her BS from Washington University, her MS from Lindenwood University, and her doctorate from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
