Baker, Stellato to Discuss Most common Eating Disorder
Northampton, MA, January 15, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Walden Behavioral Care, LLC, one of the country’s leading hospitals for treating eating disorders, announced today that it will sponsor a half-day seminar on binge-eating disorder from 8 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012 at the Hotel Northampton, 36 King St.
Speakers will include Christina Wood Baker, Ph.D., a behavioral health specialist, who will discuss, “The Basics of BED for Clinicians: What Is It and How Do I Assess and Treat It?” beginning at 9 a.m. Kelly Stellato, MS, RD, LDN, a registered dietician and licensed nutritionist at Walden, who will discuss, “Binge-Eating Disorder: Nutrition Therapy,” beginning at 11 a.m.
Binge-eating disorder is the most common eating disorder, affecting approximately two million Americans, according to the National Institute of Mental Health. The Institute found that one in five young women report that they have had binge-eating problems, while men account for about 40% of binge-eating disorder cases.
