BookDefy Provides New Textbook Exchange Service for College Students

BookDefy is a new online service that allows college students to exchange their textbooks with minimal effort with their fellow students. Instead of allowing bookstores to make massive profits, BookDefy has a simple-to-use interface to allow students to sell or exchange their books within their campus community.

Fort Worth, TX, May 10, 2007 --(PR.com)-- BookDefy asks college students why they purchase text books at high prices and then sell them back to the bookstores for a fraction of the money? The answer is simply that there is not an easier way.

Today BookDefy is announcing its initial launch of its services and is offering all users the use of the site for free until at least September of 2007. The site will always remain free for buyers, but in the fall they will begin charging a minimal upload fee of just $1.00 for textbooks that are added to their database.

They hope to change this, and have created an easy-to-use online portal that will allow college students at a variety of campuses to simply enter in the books they want to sell or exchange with their classmates. Buying is equally as simple, and students can setup an account that will allow them to immediately accept payment from fellow students for textbooks.

BookDefy gives you added tools... They allow their users to view in relative real time what other stores are charging for used textbooks. In addition, they only allow college students with a valid e-mail address to access their services, making BookDefy an actual college community.

About BookDefy

BookDefy was created to help college students easily exchange used textbooks. Rather than purchasing textbooks at high prices from the bookstores; then selling them back for a fraction of the cost and then having the bookstore sell them "used" for twice that, they developed an online community that would enable college students to use their site and their tools to easily interact, exchange and sell their textbooks to other college students with the idea that they could save them money.
