Wilson County Veteran Starts Patriotic Clothing Line

Charles Keel has traded his fatigues for blue jeans. After serving a decade in the United States Armed Forces, the Lebanon native has taken on a new role as CEO of NYA Clothing Brand.

Greenville, SC, January 18, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The best ideas come from seemingly nowhere. This is definitely true for Wilson County resident and military veteran. "I woke up at 7:36 one morning, and something just hit me," Keel said.

Keel decided he wanted to get a clothing line that gave back to his fellow veterans and soldiers, as well as emergency services workers.

NYA (Not Your Average) Clothing Brand was born. Keel started with blue jeans.

“Blue Jeans have come a long way since you and I were kids,” said Keel.

Keel mentioned that he was just at TPAC and noticed men wearing blue jeans with suit jackets. It has become a more designer clothing item.

He embroidered jeans with yellow ribbons, American flags, and even the names of service men and women.

He gets the names from organizations like the Special Operations Warrior Foundation and the Warrior Foundation.

Once the product is sold, Keel returns 25% of the sale price to the foundation that supplied the name of the Hero. Plus the clothing line is made in America.

The “Hero Line” has expanded to outerwear in both men’s and women’s. Keel hopes to take the brand nationwide, and eventually global. He will keep the company’s headquarters in Wilson County.

The website for the brand is www.nyaclothingbrand.com
