Denver, CO, January 21, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Namaste Hospice is pleased to announce the opening of The Namaste Community Center for Grief and Loss at The Comfort Café located at 3945 Tennyson Street, Denver, CO 80211. The Center is an extension of the Namaste Hospice Bereavement Program.
Namaste recognizes that grief is a very individual and, at the same time, a universal experience. Sharing thoughts and experiences with others can be comforting and reassuring. Namaste Hospice will be offering several venues for families to receive support around their grief or loss. Programs include:
Telling My Story - Drop in grief support group held on the 1st and 3rd Friday from 10:00 – 11:30 am. There is no cost; however, registration is necessary.
Reflections - A seven week education based support group that provides tools for dealing with the challenges of grief. The group is limited to eight participants who had a death loss at least three months prior to the start of the group. The group starts Thursday, February 9, from 5:30 – 7:00 pm. Cost is $50 to cover handouts and materials. Pre-registration is required.
Lunch ‘N Learn - Held on Thursdays from noon – 1:00 pm beginning January 12th. Presentations alternate each week between topics for those dealing with end-of-life issues and those who have experienced a death loss. There is no cost; however, registration is necessary.
All of the events and group meetings will be held at The Namaste Community Center for Grief and Loss, The Comfort Café, 3945 Tennyson Street, Denver, CO 80211.
“Our care doesn’t end with the death of a loved one but rather starts anew in helping those left behind to deal with their grief,” said Jan Bezuidenhout, President and Founder of Namaste. “Grief is not an event, but rather a process, and we want to help families during this process,” she concluded.
Additionally, Namaste Hospice will offer short-term individual grief counseling. To register or for further information about any of our grief support activities, please contact: Barb Kamlet, Bereavement Coordinator, 303-860-9915.
