The American Society of Interior Designers Introduces Educator Partner Membership

ASID Educator Partner Membership program broadens opportunities for future design leaders.

Washington, DC, January 25, 2012 --(PR.com)-- As part of an ongoing commitment to support and advocate interior design education, the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) has introduced the Educator Partner membership. This membership category is open to full-time and adjunct interior design educators in post-secondary accredited programs who possess a professional background in interior design or a related specialization such as fine art, industrial art or historic renovation.

“Today’s designers and design educators are increasingly diverse in their professional backgrounds and talents,” says Katie Johnson, director of student and emerging professional programs at ASID. “Through channels like the Educator Partner membership, ASID embraces this diversity and believes it broadens opportunities for the next generation of industry leaders and the profession as a whole.”

The Educator Partner membership provides educators with the tools to help facilitate interior design education and job placement through access to the ASID network, career development tools, industry surveys and leading research. Educator Partner member benefits also include access to archived ASID student design competitions to use for curriculum development, student-specific ASID webinars and industry resources such as the Society’s annual “Interior Design Environmental Scanning Report,” and sustainable design resources including REGREEN and the “ASID Guide to Ecolabels.”
