Houston Tree Service Expert Congratulates City on Planting 25,000 Trees on Arbor Day

Ability Tree Expert’s Louis Flory says the effort to replant lost trees by the city is highly commendable and everyone should be proud of that.

Houston, TX, January 25, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Houston tree service specialist, Louis Flory with Ability Tree Experts (http://www.abilitytrees.com) is congratulating the City of Houston and Mayor Anise Parker on the planting of 25,000 trees to replace those lost to last summer’s drought.

Mayor Parker joined 1,000 city residents, who volunteered their time last Saturday to plant trees in Herman, Mason and MacGregor parks.

Re-plant Houston is a multi-year joint project put together by the city in conjunction with Trees for Houston, Herman Park Conservancy, Memorial Park Conservancy and the Houston Parks Board. The aim is to re-forest and water city owned parks devastated by last summer’s drought.

“This is a worthy effort and we congratulate the city of Houston, Mayor Anise Parker and all those involved in this worthwhile project,” Louis Flory said over the weekend.

He said it would take years for the city to fully recover from the devastating effects of the unusually dry summer, it is always important to begin the process as early as possible.

“The earlier the city begins the process of re-forestation, the better. It will take many years for city parks to get back to where they were before the drought but this is a really good start,” Flory added.

Several foundations and non-profit organizations including The Apache Foundation and Trees for Houston donated the 25,000 trees.

“Here at Ability Tree Experts, we are very proud of the city for undertaking such projects. This should be just the beginning because the city lost millions of trees during the drought and to be able to replace the trees lost is wonderful. We hope the city will continue in this effort and plant more trees,” Flory said.

Louis Flory also congratulated the volunteers that helped with the tree planting. “It is not just the city. There are also the 1,000 volunteers that participated in the day long activities. It takes a special person to volunteer and we thank those that took the time to do so,” he said.
