The Shayler Foundation to Host "Our Light: Voices of Women" Art Exhibit to Celebrate International Women’s Day
The Shayler Foundation on 17 March 2012 will host its first annual International Women’s Day event at Arbeit Gallery. The event will serve as a launch for their Safe Birthing Project aimed at helping Ugandan women have a healthy pregnancy and delivery.

The complications leading to a maternal death can occur without warning at any time during pregnancy and childbirth.. Most maternal deaths can be prevented if births are attended by skilled health personnel – doctors, nurses and midwives – who are regularly supervised and have the proper equipment and supplies.
