TaskMate™ Robotic Loading and Assembly System Reduces Repetitive Motion
By integrating robots with other components of a packaging line, ESS Technologies has designed a system that automates repetitive tasks in loading and assembly processes. Robotic systems can increase efficiency while reducing cost and freeing valuable human workers to be utilized in other parts of the process.
Blacksburg, VA, May 12, 2007 --(PR.com)-- The TaskMate(TM) Robotic Loading and Assembly System utilizes a Fanuc LR Mate mini robot to reduce repetitive motion in the loading and assembly of packaged medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and consumer goods. The system performs a wide variety of tasks to increase efficiency and productivity while reducing cost. The system is designed to work in a number of environmental settings, including clean room, process, and packaging. Equipped with a tabletop platform, interlocked guarding and optional light curtain, the TaskMate(TM) easily integrates into most process or packaging equipment.
Enhanced motion control, speed, vision, and robotic dexterity make the system ideal for a number of loading or assembly applications. In one recently deployed system, the TaskMate(TM) used the Fanuc LR Mate robot to take the product from a known location, place the part in a box, and feed the box to packaging equipment. In addition to this application’s requirement for precision placement, the TaskMate(TM) is uniquely suited for pick and place applications, carton/case loading, product collation and dispensing, product orientation, and production inspection and sampling. By automating these repetitive tasks, companies can increase production efficiency while reducing cost and allowing workers to be redeployed in other parts of the production process that require human interaction.
