Slingshot PDG Volunteers at Children’s Hospital
Gwinnett County based product development company gives back to the community in a "Day of Service."
Lawrenceville, GA, January 27, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Slingshot PDG closed its office Tuesday, January 17, to spend the day volunteering and working at the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Gwinnett location. The volunteers were assigned spots in Immediate Care and Rehabilitation waiting rooms to help make the wait a little more entertaining for children visiting that day. The Slingshot team brought home made craft kits and offered activities from pipe cleaner turtles to glitter snowmen to coloring trains that were displayed in the lobbies. The experience benefited all involved; Slingshot employees, Children’s Healthcare, and most of all the kids and parents at the facility that day.
Based in Gwinnett County since being founded over 10 years ago, the product design company decided that giving back to its community in North Atlanta was a golden opportunity. Slingshot, normally busy designing, engineering, prototyping and manufacturing, decided that a day of volunteer work would not only be a bonding experience for the staff but make someone else’s day a little brighter too. Slingshot prides itself on the enthusiasm and energy that its team devotes to volunteer activities as individuals. It only made sense to create an event where SPDG could share this passion together and support an operation like CHOA. This was the first event of the bi-annual "Day of Service" instituted by the company this past fall.
“The Slingshot Team was delighted to be involved with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. It was a great opportunity for us to connect with kids and parents in the Gwinnett community, and was a rewarding experience for all of us. We are very grateful to CHOA for the opportunity,” Slingshot’s President and CEO, Noah McNeely stated after the event. The company is excited to start planning the next "Day of Service" promptly.
