Washington, DC, May 14, 2007 --(PR.com)-- The City-wide Council of Presidents of New York City is mobilizing thousands of Public Housing resident delegations from 9 cities to converge on Washington DC, to get their fair share of federal appropriations, stop what has been characterized as an all out attack on people in Public Housing and to fix massive budget and policy problems, generated during the last 8 years by massive budget cuts by the Senate, Congress and major policy shifts at the US Department of HUD that are destroying resident rights, and having a growing negative impact on the lives of Public Housing Residents Nation Wide.

The Purpose of the Rally is to Mobilize Public Housing Residents Nation Wide to Get Congress and the Senate to Put 15 Billion Dollars in funding to the Federal Budget to Rebuild and Restore the Public Housing Programs and Target the US Dept of HUD to protect resident participation rights and policies threatened by new waiver guidelines produced by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Delegations of Residents will make scheduled visits to a targeted list of Senate and House of Representative Leaders, and HUD to urge their support on key Public Housing and Funding and Policy Issues.
