Designs by Joan Edelstein Featured at Smithsonian's Renwick Gallery and Houston Museum of Fine Arts

Austin, TX, May 13, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Joan Edelstein's unique designs are featured in galleries, museums and high-end boutiques nationwide. What Joan is most proud of is her admiration from galleries and museums like The Smithsonian Institution’s Renwick Gallery in Washington, D.C. and The Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, Texas. Her beautifully designed scarves and shawls are also displayed as wall hangings and table runners as well as wearable art.

About her work, Joan says, "Don't look for straight lines or right angles in these beautiful Scarves and Shawls. What you'll find instead is the soft flow of hand-dyed silk that surrounds a colorful network of vintage and contemporary fabrics and trims. Each is a one of a kind work of art to wear."

After having very successful showings at The Buyer's Market of American Craft (BMAC) in Philadelphia in August, 2006 and February, 2007 and at the American Craft Retailers Expo (ACRE) this past week in Las Vegas, Joan says the response was overwhelming.

Joan has seven design categories: Confetti Lace, Graphic Details, Split Personality, Simple Geometry, Stripes, Vintage Stripes and her newest design, Random Thoughts. These designs are bordered in hand-dyed silk ribbon surrounding a colorful network of vintage and contemporary fabrics and trims. Some of Joan's designs have vintage images within the silk borders. The sizes are 54" x 6", 60" x 8", 70" x 10" and 70" x 20".
