Mesa, AZ, January 28, 2012 --(PR.com)-- An Arizona cartoonist has explored the ramifications of Governor Jan Brewer's controversial "finger wag" during President Barack Obama's visit to the Valley yesterday.
Russ Kazmierczak, Jr. is the creator/artist behind Karaokefanboy Press, which in turn publishes "Amazing Arizona Comics," a comic book series that satirizes current events, and often exaggerates news items to fit the fantastic context of superhero adventures.
"The brief conversation Governor Brewer had with the President yesterday has already been dubbed 'Brewer v. Obama' in the press," Kazmierczak explains. "Depending on who you ask, there's definitely a 'good guy' and a 'bad guy,' so I thought it would be a natural to adapt as a comic book conflict!"
His strip explores the aftermath of Brewer's "finger wag," as the President and the Governor resolves their issues once and for all. The comic can be found at Nerdvana (http://blogs.evtrib.com/nerdvana/comics/exclusive-amazing-arizona-comics-presents-throw-down-in-the-desert/64582/), a local pop culture blog.
"I hope the comic gets people thinking about local politics in a different way," Kazmierczak concludes. "The political parties are always in conflict, and that was obvious right here in the Valley yesterday. The least some of us can do is have some fun with it."
Kazmierczak's self-publishing company is called KaraokeFanboy Press; more information can be found at karaokefanboypress.blogspot.com.
