Capstone Announces DC Entertainment License for Educational Markets
Minneapolis, MN, January 29, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Capstone, a leading publisher of children’s books and digital products and services, has announced a licensing agreement with DC Entertainment to publish reinforced library hard covers and paper-over-board editions of the DC Comics comic book list. The license includes worldwide English and select Spanish editions for limited markets.
Capstone will launch the publishing program in Fall 2012 with 24 titles.
“We’re excited to expand our cooperation with the creator and publisher of so many iconic and compelling characters. Batman and Superman are two of the most popular comic book figures in the North America. New readers in educational settings will be introduced to some of the world’s greatest Super Heroes, and current fans will discover a new venue for reading their favorite editions,” said Ashley Andersen Zantop, Capstone Group Publisher and General Manager.
This is the third licensing project Capstone and DC Entertainment has collaborated on in recent years. The publishers launched a successful partnership in 2008 under Capstone’s Stone Arch Books imprint to publish DC Super Heroes chapter books featuring DC Comics’ iconic characters Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and the Flash. In 2011, the publishers launched an original chapter book series featuring DC Super Pets under Capstone’s Picture Window Books imprint. Illustrated by Eisner award-winner Art Baltazar, the original series introduces readers to the pets of the World’s Greatest Super Heroes.
