Balfour Beatty Construction Opens Maryland Office, Promotes Bedri to VP
Dallas, TX, February 01, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Balfour Beatty Construction expands its presence in the Mid-Atlantic, opening a new Maryland office and promoting William Bedri III to vice president of operations to lead that office.
The new Maryland office allows the company to provide a higher level of attention and service to clients, partners, projects and the local community in Maryland, where it provides general contracting, at-risk construction management and design-build services.
Bedri, a long-time Maryland resident and project executive on many Balfour Beatty projects in the state, leads the firm’s presence and growth there with an emphasis on relationship-building, community involvement, pursuit of business opportunities and project planning and execution. Specific areas of focus include healthcare, higher education and commercial development, as well as leveraging the capabilities and experience of all Balfour Beatty companies to create successful public-private partnerships. Bedri has an 18-year tenure with Balfour Beatty, earned a bachelor of science degree in Construction Management at the University of Florida and is a LEED Green Associate.
With a track record of successfully completing more than $1.9 billion in construction projects in Maryland, Balfour Beatty’s local portfolio includes the landmark World Trade Center in Baltimore, five projects on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s White Oak campus in Silver Spring, and the Wyndham Vacation Resorts at National Harbor in Prince George’s County, as well as the NIH – Mark O. Hatfield Clinical Research Center, and the new Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, both in Bethesda.
The Maryland office is located at 100 South Charles Street in Baltimore. Balfour Beatty shares the 10th floor space with sister company Parsons Brinckerhoff.
