16 Handles Wants Fans to Name It! for $500

New York, NY, February 01, 2012 --(PR.com)-- 16 Handles - New York’s first self-serve frozen yogurt franchise - has just introduced a new machine on a trial period in its original East Village and recently opened Greenwich Village locations in NYC. This machine blends your favorite combination of 16 different flavors and over 50 toppings into a special 16 oz cup. Guests will fill up their cup and hand it to a team member who will then “blend” it. The “blended creation” currently has no name. 16 Handles is using a social media campaign to encourage fans to come up with a name. Fans can post their submissions on facebook.com/16handles until February 2nd.Voting will begin February 3rd for the top 16 submissions and end on February 7th. The winning submission will receive a $500 Visa Gift Card and the two runner ups will each receive a $10 Gift Card to 16 Handles.

“We wanted our fans to be involved in launching the new product – that’s when we came up with the idea for a Facebook contest,” says founder Solomon Choi. 16 Handles has used social media as a two-way communication between brand and fans since it first opened in 2008 by asking questions like which flavors and toppings guests wanted in the store. “This was a perfect opportunity to have our guests be included in the creative process.” Once the final name is chosen and the machine is tested in the two city stores, 16 Handles hopes to introduce the machine to more of their locations.
