The 2012 Common Ground International Book Fest Features a Legacy of Love Campaign at Shepherd University on Saturday, March 3rd in the Harpers Ferry, WV Area
Charles Town, WV, February 03, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Professor Patricia H. Lee, a faculty member of West Virginia University's College of Law, who directs the Entrepreneurship Law Clinic, will be a featured speaker during the 2012 Common Ground International Book Fest scheduled for Saturday, March 3, 2012 at the Shepherd University Wellness Center. Professor Lee will speak at 1:00 PM on The Importance of Small Business Entrepreneurship.
After attending a sesquicentennial of West Virginia's statehood event at West Virginia University College of Law in April of last year, Dr. Pamela Ellis, Books Motivate Foundation, Inc. President, a major sponsor of the book fest, knew that the services provided by the Entrepreneurship Law Clinic would be of assistance to small business owners across the state and nation. Also, the recent observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday at WVU honoring the Legacy of Love ideal helped to develop the foundation for this year’s book fest campaign volunteers.
Dr. Ellis acknowledged, “In the legal profession, as well as, the book industry, there is so much opportunity for success as an entrepreneur. For career and economic development opportunity, I hope students, area residents, and regional business owners don’t miss this informative discussion with Professor Lee.”
The book fest is free of charge through sponsorships by community-based supporters of the events. The opening festivities, however, do include a charge for attendance at the Underground Railroad Breakfast with a dramatic portrayal of Harriet Tubman by Voices from the Earth, Inc. Co-Founder, Ms. Ilene Evans at 7:30 AM in the Shepherd University Student Center ($20 adults, $10 students).
At 10:00 AM, an opening choir and drumming performance by Shepherdstown Middle School students at the SU Wellness Center under the direction of Mr. John Russell, Shepherdstown Middle School teacher is scheduled. There is an Eastern Panhandle, WV student writing competition that public school students are invited to participate as well. Children books are featured, as well as, a Chick-fil-A coloring contest station, and a moon bounce activity center.
Shepherd University student and musician, Kameron T. Ralls, will perform at 12:30 PM. A host of featured authors including Melanie Bonita, Chuck Stump, and Christian Authors on Tour will conduct book signings during the event, which ends at 4:30 PM.
Other scheduled presenters include Adrienne Morgan, Owner of A Zone WSP Environmental Services, Daryl S. Dudley, a media consultant from Washington, D.C., and Cheryl Wood, motivational business development speaker and author.
