Breaking News: innINDIA Launching WAP Services
The newbie in Indian Internet Market - innINDIA.com is planning to launch its WAP range of service by end of next month.
Kolkata, India, May 16, 2007 --(PR.com)-- innINDIA.com - a portal catering to the New Indian Internet Consumers, is stepping up its development and is preparing to focus on the lucrative mobile segment. innINDIA has hired the director of technology and content already, sources confirmed. Other key staff is being recruited, and the company is likely to kick off its mobile division anytime soon. innINDIA already has a back-end setup in Kolkata, but this launch is about stepping in to the Indian Mobile Segment. innINDIA is driven by a group of young technology entrepreneurs with a mixed background of IT, Management & Marketing.
According to sources, innINDIA's introductory WAP services will enable users to get information about Medical Institutions in or around the city or a PIN code (provide by user) on their mobile/hand-held device. The site's operators said innINDIA aims to end the "circle of gloom" where the end user moves through multiple platforms to find a Medical Institution that best meets their needs. In the subsequent releases, this service will combine search engine functionality, reviews and data retrieval options as well.
Though it is not released (officially) yet, they did a sneak preview and found the service quite useful and simple to use. All you need to do is, connect to www.innindia.com using your GPRS enabled hand-held or mobile devices. The site would automatically detect your device platform and redirect you to its WAP section, where you get the option to select the service from a drop down list. Please don't select "Search Post Office by PIN", as it won't work (it takes you to a "under development" page). But, do go ahead with the other option i.e. "Search Hospitals by City" and proceed towards keying in a city name. Trying Bangalore returned about 190+ results. Neat stuff! They will look forward to the official release of this service (which promises a few more enhancement to an already decent WAP service).
