DoggieQR.com President Announces the Newest Inexpensive Technology to Quickly Retrieve Lost Dogs

Company manufactures QR Coded Dog ID Tags for pet identification.

San Diego, CA, February 06, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Brent Nelson, President of DoggieQR.com today announces the formal opening of DoggieQR.com

Mr. Nelson’s newest Internet venture has created a product that takes a modern and revolutionary approach to solve an ancient problem; finding lost dogs owners as quickly as possible.

The Company has created stainless steel dog tags in different collar configurations that are laser etched with QR (Quick Response) codes. Although QR codes have been widely used in Asia and Europe for many years, marketers in the US have only recently added QR codes to a variety of products. They are now seen on everything from theme park tickets to morning newspapers to fast food products. However, the Company believes the versatile QR code can do much more than marketing.

In DoggieQR’s case, since 65% of the U.S. Population (200 million) will have a smart-phone or tablet capable of reading a QR code by 2015 **, the Company knew it could devise a cheaper, smarter pet identification system.

The rescuer of a lost dog either scans the dog’s QR coded tag with any free smart-phone QR app or inputs its serial number on any Internet enabled computer. The device will go directly to the pet’s own web page which DoggieQR provides and is included in the purchase price. There are no recurring web fees. All the owner’s contact information is included along with dog’s veterinary, medical, special needs, preferred food, allergy, vaccination and reward info.

A demo is available at DoggieQR.

The product is retail packaged in a clamshell and is designed to be simple to understand and set up. It takes 3-5 minutes to provide the proper information online and optionally upload the dog’s photo. Provisions are made for privacy concerns.

The regional dog shelters have been notified about the product and the Company has provided training to those who desired. Shelter management appreciates the fact that most of the U.S. population can directly retrieve the contact information rather than requiring transportation to a vet or animal control as required with injectables. Many Humane Societies and shelters are in negotiation with the Company to acquire the tags for their dogs as an alternative or add-on to injectables.
