North Carolina Theatre and Broadway Series South Present Les Misérables
25th Anniversary Production of World’s Longest-Running Musical Makes Raleigh Debut Feb. 14-19
Raleigh, NC, February 06, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Kristin Buie, communications manager of North Carolina Theatre (http://www.nctheatre.com), has announced that the organization, in conjunction with Broadway Series South, will present eight performances of Les Misérables from Tuesday, Feb. 14 through Sunday, Feb. 19 at the Raleigh Memorial Auditorium, Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts, located at 2 E. South St. Performances will start at 7:30 p.m., with additional matinee performances on Saturday, Feb. 18 and Sunday, Feb. 19 at 2 p.m. Cameron Mackintosh’s new production marks the 25th anniversary national tour of the musical, which has played more than 43,000 professional performances worldwide before more than 55 million people, including 21 years in London that has made it the world’s longest-running musical. Based on Victor Hugo’s classic novel, Les Misérables features music by Claude-Michel Schönberg, lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer from the original French text by Alain Boublil and Jean-Marc Natel, and additional material by James Fenton. The score includes the classic songs “I Dreamed a Dream,” “On My Own,” “Stars,” “Bring Him Home,” “Do You Hear the People Sing?,” “One Day More,” “Empty Chairs at Empty Tables,” “Master Of The House” and many more.
